Hydrogen Peroxide in Textile Fibre Bleaching
Hydrogen peroxide is the bleaching agent of choice that helps to give a stable whiteness to natural cotton, wool, silk, linen and also some synthetic rayon fibres. Hydrogen Peroxide as a bleach does this without causing any damage to the fibres. Similar to pulp bleaching, an alkaline medium is used for bleaching textile fibres with hydrogen peroxide.
Advantages of Hydrogen Peroxide as a bleaching agent for textile fibres:
Hydrogen peroxide bleaching keeps the quality of the fibre intact.
It also acts as a pre-treatment wash as hydrogen peroxide combines a cleaning effect with a bleaching effect.
Hydrogen Peroxide is an environment friendly as well as a very highly cost effective bleaching agent.
Cotton as well as animal fibres can be bleached with hydrogen peroxide, it provides both fibres with a very high degree of whiteness.
Hydrogen Peroxide is also the bleaching agent of choice for silks, wool and synthetic textile fibres.
Hydrogen Peroxide manufactured by Shakambari Enterprises India Pvt Ltd is an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution with small amounts of stabilisers. Commercial solutions of Hydrogen Peroxide manufactured and marketed by us are extremely stable based on the purity of the hydrogen peroxide and the presence of stabilisers.
When necessary precautions are taken during handling and storage, loss of active oxygen from our hydrogen peroxide solution is negligible. If stored at 20 C, concentration drops are as low as less than 1% after 12 months of storage.
